Fall Events in and around Ridgewood NJ

The new school year has begun, pumpkin spice is back in everything – it’s time to enjoy Ridgewood and the surrounding towns through all that fall has to offer! Celebrate a gorgeous season with some of these local favorites. We’ve put together some of the best events, shopping locations, treats, and spots to visit.

Ridgewood Annual Car Show

Ridgewood Car Show Friday September 5, 6-9pm (weather permitting!) on East Ridgewood Avenue. Come see historic and amazing autos, listen to live music, and enjoy all that downtown has to offer! Bonus plans: make reservations at your favorite downtown restaurant for dinner. 

Ridgewood Fall Craft and Art Street Fair

When: Sunday, September 14, 2025, from 11 AM to 5 PM

Where: Downtown Ridgewood, East Ridgewood Avenue

What to Expect:

Around 200 exhibitors from multiple states showcasing jewelry, pottery, woodwork, photography, garden items, apparel, and more

Festival-style food vendors

Kids’ entertainment area featuring inflatables, face painting, games

Live music throughout the day

Free admission, held rain or shine

Ridgewood Farmer’s Market

Ridgewood Farmer’s Market is located at the NJ Train Station Parking Lot on the West Side of Town. Sundays Only until Sunday, October 29, 2024 – 8:30 am to 2 pm.  Enjoy Fresh Farm-to-Table Produce, Fresh Vegetables, Fruits, Baked Goods, Local Honey, Delicious Pickles, Homemade Mozzarella, and Much More.  

Go Apple Picking

Demarest Farms has apples, pumpkins, and a farm bakery for a full day of fun. Don’t forget the apple cider donuts!

Pick Your Own Apple Dates:

September 1st, 6th-7th, 13th-14th, 20th-21st, 23rd-24th, 27th-28th,

October 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 11th-13th, 2025.

Get Fall Decor and Plants

Visit a local nursery, like Rohsler’s in Allendale to buy mums, pumpkins, and gourds to adorn your front stoop, go on a hayride, and pick out seasonal decoration! (Don’t forget the bulbs to plant NOW for spring flowers like tulips later!).

Go Pumpkin Picking

Go pumpkin picking! Local favorite Secor Farms has all you need for pumpkins and hayrides on a nice fall day. Bonus points if you then carve the pumpkin and roast the seeds! Abmas Farm also has a great hayride and barnyard, but requires reservations.

Zoo Boo at Bergen County Zoo

Plan ahead! Get tickets for October’s ZOO BOO event – spooky fun at the zoo both during the day and at night! Tickets are available now and sell out VERY quickly.  Zoo Boo – Bergen County Zoo
