I am delighted to have this opportunity to write about the wonderful experience we had working with Chris Gubb to sell our family home of fifty-five years in Ridgewood. Our parents raised five of us in this home and welcomed eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren into the family. We were all there every Sunday and every holiday and our parents were present at every school concert, game, dance recital, and graduation. I mention this because Chris didn’t flinch at the prospect of working with five executors who were deeply rooted in their home and had just lost their mom. Her exceptional knowledge, experience, work ethic, and integrity gave us confidence that we were in good hands and would have the best possible outcome. With what felt like an overwhelming amount of work ahead of us, she guided us through it all step by step. She seemed to know just when we needed a nudge to stay on track without being intrusive; she respected our need to grieve while providing support with all of the decisions that needed to be made; and she was responsive throughout the entire process. She surrounds herself with a staff of lovely, efficient, competent people and has an impressive army of tradespeople to recommend for every job that needs to get done. Her attention to detail meant that we didn’t have to worry about skipping a beat. She and her stager took note of the unique features of our home and knew where to focus their attention. By the time it went on the market, the house had never looked so good and the offers poured in. It was important to us that we find a buyer who loved the home, and that we were passing it forward to a family that would take care of it, so it was nice to have choices. Again, it was Chris’s experience and reputation that put us in that position. In a word, she is extraordinary.
